Magnolia Chapter of SWANA LogoThe Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) is a non-profit, educational organization serving individuals and communities responsible for the management and operation of municipal solid waste management systems. Dedicated to the advancement of professionalism in the field, SWANA offers its members training programs, technical assistance, and educational opportunities to help meet their ever-growing needs.

For more than 50 years, SWANA has been the premier professional association in the solid waste and recycling field. The organization contains 47 chapters and serves over 11,000 solid waste professionals throughout North America with industry leading conferences, certification programs, publications, and technical training courses.

The Magnolia Chapter of SWANA serves and represents solid waste professionals within the State of Mississippi offering support, training, CEU credit opportunities and community resources to leverage the benefits of SWANA membership and certification on a local level.

Chapter Mission Statement:

The Mississippi “Magnolia” Chapter of the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) strives to promote excellence in solid waste management in Mississippi. Through the development of local and regional conferences and training seminars, and working with the National SWANA organization, Mississippi SWANA encourages environmentally and economically sound solid waste management practices.
