The SWANA Young Professionals Group was introduced to the SWANA Membership at WASTECON 2012 (Washington, DC).

Are you a Young Professional?

Don’t judge a book by its cover. You may qualify as a Young Professional (YP) without knowing it. Although “young” implies age, we recognize that there are many ways to describe a young professional. If you meet any of the following criteria, then join us:

  1. You are 35 years or younger.
  2. You have less than 5 years experience in the solid waste industry.
  3. You recently accepted a new position or joined a new company in the industry.

What is the YP Group?

The Young Professionals (YP) Group is comprised of dynamic, incisive individuals who represent the future of the solid waste industry. We are passionate about the environment and our industry. We are eager to offer advice, brainstorm ideas, develop solutions and share in the struggles and triumphs of working in this business. We are energetic, motivated and want you to join us.

Benefits of the YP Group:

The YP Group is a resource to help you advance professionally in the solid waste industry. By joining the YP Group, you will benefit from:

  • Valuable networking opportunities at events, conferences and online.
  • eSessions to help you navigate the challenges of the solid waste industry.
  • Useful information and tools to help you succeed in your career.
  • Opportunities to voice your opinion about the future of SWANA.
