The solid waste and recycling industry offers a variety of exciting career opportunities, and the MS Chapter of SWANA encourages its members, friends, and associates to explore and take advantage of the vast array of training options available to develop the skills and knowledge needed to stay ahead. Our chapter holds two conferences each year in the spring and fall to allow for multiple opportunities each year for those needing professional development or certification hours as well as those wanting to broaden their knowledge base on issues like operations, technology, and safety.

We invite all to attend our conferences, but we also recognize that conference attendance is not always feasible. Please know that there are several other available options to get the training you need and according to your schedule. PLEASE also let us know if there are any training topics you’d like covered at our next conference or if there are other training or certification offerings we need to explore offering.

SWANA is an excellent source for your solid waste training needs. Aside from local training available at MS Chapter conferences, at, you can find upcoming as well as on-demand webinars on various solid waste and materials management topics and see live and virtual options for seeking your certification in landfill operations, integrated solid waste management systems, recycling systems management, and other areas.
