SWANA Selected as Organization of the Year

Waste Dive has selected SWANA as the Organization of the Year. Waste Dive cited SWANA’s amplified presence on recycling, safety, and international outreach as major reasons for receiving this award. The change in SWANA’s governance structure and growth in membership were also recognized by Waste Dive.

As SWANA President Michael Greenberg told Waste Dive, “you basically are seeing a new SWANA, and it’s a SWANA that is a resource for our membership and even others outside the industry.”

As a SWANA Chapter Leader, we could not have achieved this recognition without your commitment to the organization. We encourage you to share this wonderful news with your members, prospective members, and sponsors.

As we look toward the new year, you can be assured that we will not rest on our laurels. SWANA Southern New England Chapter President Phil Goddard said that “I know that SWANA will continue to play an important role in a fast-moving, complex industry that is a key part of securing the health of our planet and our quality of life in a modern age.” Working together, we will achieve these goals.

Past recipients of this Waste Dive award include GFL, The Recycling Partnership, and the New York City Department of Sanitation. SWANA is proud to be associated with these other fine organizations.
